An Italian Inspiration

In the summer of 2010, I had the pleasure of traveling to Europe for the first time. We spent 19 days traveling all over Italy, hitting Rome, Venice, Tuscany and Florence. As we toured around, taking in our surroundings through miles of walking, photographs and  hungry appetites; the stories we heard, the hospitality we received, the foods and wines we tried and the genuine beauty of the Italian culture made me fall in love and lit something inside of me. Being from the Northwest, dishes with seafood are almost a guarantee no matter what restaurant you head into and it was that mindset of a Northwest lifestyle that, quite frankly, put me in a food slump. Traveling to a new country, for the first time ever, (besides Canada or Mexico) was one of the best things that could have ever happened to me. A new lease on life was discovered and a new thirst for wanting to always try something new formed.

Along with the company of family and friends, four of the most important things to me are photography, traveling and getting to taste great food and exceptional wine. This blog is a compilation of all of these things. I hope you can laugh, relate and maybe even learn something as I wine, dine and wander through life!
